Robbie Savage

Former professional footballer, Robert Savage, is an Irish-Welsh hybrid. He played in the midfield position for Cardiff City in the 1990s and is now a football pundit. Born in Wrexham, Wales, Robbie Savage grew up in the area. His parents, Colin and Valerie, were the club’s directors and he attended Ysgol Bryn Alyn school in Gwersyllt. After leaving school, Savage joined Manchester United as an apprentice and made the club his team. He stayed with the club until the end of the season before leaving to concentrate on his media career.

After leaving Leicester City, Savage joined Premier League side Leicester City for PS400,000. He played for the club for five seasons, and made a name for himself as a competitive, reliable midfielder. His most memorable moment at the club was his goal in the 1999 League Cup final, where he scored the winning goal. The game ended 1-1 and Tottenham fans still hold a grudge against Savage. He later returned to his old club, but did so with a grudge.
