Maharashtra weekend lockdown: Here’s all you need to know | India News – Times of India




NEW DELHI: Maharashtra has entered a strict weekend lockdown from today, 8pm onwards till 7am on Monday.
Only essential services such as medical, grocery, fruits, milk shops will be allowed to remain open. While movie and drama theatres will close down but film and television shootings will continue if there is no crowding.
Transportation services including buses, trains and taxis will also be allowed to function.
The government offices will operate with 50% capacity and industries will continue to operate without any restrictions.
The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting earlier this week in view of surging Covid-19 cases in the state.
In an order issued by the authorities, the BMC clarified that hotels and restaurants will be allowed to undertake home delivery of food based on orders placed by citizens over the phone.
Apart from the weekend lockdown, strict restrictions will come into force from Monday 8pm onwards under which shopping malls, bars, restaurants, small shops will be open only for take-aways and parcels.
