The Tamil language drama “J Baby” has been announced by Pa Ranjith and Little Red Car Films. The first in the slate, “Writer,” had already been filmed when J Baby was first in the works. Suresh Mari is helming the directorial debut of J Baby. The film features Urvashi, Dinesh, and Maaran in key roles. The film is being produced by the team of Pa Ranjith, Abhayanand Singh, Piiyush Singh, and Saurash Gupta.

Foote wrote, directed, and starred in Baby the Rain Must Fall. The screenplay was written by Horton Foote, who also wrote the play. This film was a sequel to “The Stalking Moon” (1967), which had Mulligan as the mother, and a young Kimberly Block as the wife. Despite being set in a small town, the film was shot in Austin, Texas. The cast is made up of locals and stars young actors.
Besides writing and directing this movie, Foote also wrote the screenplay for To Kill a Mockingbird. The play was written by the late John Ford, who is a favorite of the writer and director. His other screenplays include Inside Daisy Clover (1965), Up the Down Staircase (1967), and The Stalking Moon (1968). The first two films, “Baby the Rain Must Fall,” and “J Baby Movie,” were all produced by Mulligan and co-written by Foote.
