Breakdown per episode

Episode 1: “To the Waters and the Wild”

The first episode of the series follows Bloom’s first day at Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld. As she takes in the new environment that surrounds her, she meets Sky which immediately tells her she’s lost. After a little banter, Bloom explains that she’s a fairy but isn’t from the Otherworld. Riven, Sky’s best friend interrupts their conversation with Stella. They both introduce themselves as Stella takes it upon herself to become Bloom’s official mentor as she tours Bloom around the campus. The headmistress of Alfea, Headmistress Dowling, soon tells Bloom to be careful with using her magic as it can be very dangerous.

Bloom meets her roommate Aisha, a water fairy, and the two instantly get along. Bloom explains that her parents think she is in the Alps as they don’t know about Bloom’s powers given that they’re human. While preparing for the orientation party, Stella uses her magic which made Bloom even more curious about her capabilities.

During one of the school’s lessons, a teacher explains how the men are expected to be the first in line for defense when the opportunity calls for it. He soon talks about the barrier that protects them from the Burned Ones. The episode also shows Bloom practicing her fire magic in private as she heads out into the woods. When Aisha finds her, Bloom struggles to keep her powers at bay and ends up starting a small forest fire. Bloom opens up to Aisha about her relationship with her parents and how her powers affected their relationship. Aisha explains that Bloom may be a “changeling,” a fairy baby who was switched at birth.

Wanting to return home, Bloom calls her parents and asks if she’s made the right decision. Her parents encouraged Bloom that she was more than capable of handling what is presented to her. On the way back to the Otherworld, Bloom encounters a Burned One but escapes with the help of her friends.

Episode 2: “No Strangers Here”

Bloom tries to get over how she might be a Changeling as Aisha encourages Bloom to cheer up for her second day of school. Terra realizes that Stella hasn’t returned to their dorm. When they all soon meetup, Bloom reveals that she lost the ring Stella has given her. Stella expresses her disappointment and anger saying that the ring is one of the Crown Jewels of Solaria.

When Bloom was asked to test out her magic, Bloom failed and was unable to show everyone around her because of the pressure she felt. After the class, Bloom asks Headmistress Dowling if she is really a Changeling. The headmistress was taken aback and asked Bloom how she found out. She then gave Bloom advice to take this as a chance to grow and learn as she will discover more about her past.

The friends also go on a quest to get Stella’s ring back when they plan to head outside the barrier. As this happens, Beatrix and Riven look through the headmistresses’ books to find more information about things they haven’t taught at school yet. Drawn into each other, the two hook up.

Bloom continues to practice her powers, Saul reports to the headmistress about what to do with the captured Burned One. The newfound friends head to the forest and Bloom is soon found facing the Burned One. Confused, Bloom seems to have a connection with them as they seemed quite familiar to her and weren’t much of a threat.

Episode 3: “Heavy Mortal Hopes”

Almost killed in the last episode, Saul continues to train the fairies to fight. As Riven asks Sky if Saul looks okay, Riven also wonders why Stella is back in Sky’s life as it is pretty obvious that she isn’t there for Sky during this difficult time.

Meanwhile, Headmistress Dowling also teaches the students how to control their powers. Looking very pleased, Bloom is becoming more comfortable with her magic and is improving greatly. Although the students are enjoying their lessons, some of them feel like they are preparing for something greater. Sky checks up on Saul and discovers that his medications aren’t working. Saul then tells Sky that they need to kill the Burned One in order for his infection to die down. If it doesn’t and it reaches his heart, Saul said that he will die.

At one of the parties, Bloom and Sky get closer as Sky opens up about Saul. Bloom shows empathy and the two loosen up by playing beer pong. Musa and Sam sneak around to avoid a confrontation with Terra about their feelings for each other. Bloom finds a picture of Rosalind and asks the headmistress who she is. Dowling explains that she was the previous headmistress of Alfea and that she is dead.

Bloom heads out to the forest and, like before, hears mystic whispers that soon led her to the Burned One. The Burned One attacks Bloom and Sky but Sky stabs the creature. Along with the help of the headmistress, they defeat the Burned One. The episode ends with Saul recovering from his infection and Dowling telling Saul that Bloom knows about Rosalind.

Episode 4: “Some Wrecked Angel”

During this episode, Musa was also revealed as a Changeling. Queen Luna, Stella’s mother and the queen of Solaria, also makes her way to Alfea. As Luna gives her speech at the school assembly, she announces that at least 5 Burned Ones are coming their way. The friend group splits up when the Sky and Raven fight.

Episode 4 also shows Stella’s relationship with her mother as Queen Luna says harsh words to Stella. Behind closed doors, it is shown that Luna isn’t as nice as she presents herself to others. While all of this is happening, Bloom seems to disappear and Sky, along with her other friends, tries to look for her. Terra, Aisha, and Musa confront Headmistress Dowling about the hidden information on Callum. They also told the headmistress about Bloom and Beatrix’s vanishing.

Adding more fuel to the fire, Beatrix reveals that Rosalind is still alive as she saw Rosalind with Dowling, Saul, and Harvey. Soon, Bloom was found and was greeted by the surprising news. Wanting to know more, Bloom sets out to find more answers with Beatrix but was soon stopped by headmistress Dowling.

Bloom explains to her friends that she wasn’t kidnapped by Beatrix and Sky confronts Saul about this newfound information. Saul tells Sky to remain on Bloom’s good side and find out what she discovered when she was with Beatrix. Musa comes clean about her and Sam’s relationship and tells Terra about them. Suddenly, the group’s problems were added when Stella confessed that she will be returning to Solaria with her mother.

Episode 5: “Wither Into the Truth”

Bloom wants to find a way to talk to Beatrice but was soon too occupied in preparing for an upcoming war. Sky and Bloom face another Burned One but realize that these were dummies to help them fight. The sky opens up to Saul that spying on Bloom doesn’t feel right, insulating that he might have feelings for her. Alfea teachers air out how they think the students aren’t ready. Headmistress Dowling believes that they have been abandoned since Queen Luna and Stella left.

Bloom visits Beatrix as she was captured by headmistress Dowling. Beatrix then admits that she did kill Callum but there’s more to the story. Wanting to know more, Bloom frees Beatrix and asks for her help to find Rosalind. Although the storyline might be a little confusing, one thing is for sure: that Beatrix holds the answers to almost everything.

Stella comes back to Alfea and is caught by Musa. Stella reveals all that had happened with her and her mother. She discloses that Queen Luna only cares about the power and strength she has and is not afraid to get rid of anyone who doesn’t agree with her. Meanwhile, Sky finds Bloom with Beatrix and tells Bloom that he is spying for Saul. Bloom leaves angry but Sky assures her that he can be trusted. The two grow closer and end up kissing. Unfortunately, Bloom has different plans than to just sit still and let her feelings develop.

The episode also reveals that more Burned Ones are coming while Aisha and Terra talk to Bloom about why she helped free Beatrix. Bloom confronts headmistress Dowling as well about Rosalind and everything she found out about the previous Alfea headmistress.

Episode 6: “A Fanatic Heart”

The friend group all get in trouble as Bloom finally discovers who Rosalind really is. Rosalind explains her side of the story while Bloom realizes that her birth parents might actually be alive. The previous headmistress didn’t intend to keep anything from Bloom as she explains that the Burned Ones are after Bloom as she is the special one.

Not long after, Burned Ones have made their way to Alfea hurting Sam. Gathering enough strength, he warns Musa as well as the others. Since there is no other way to escape the madness but for the students to fight, the headmistress starts to prepare them for battle. Dowling tells Bloom that Rosalind is only manipulating her to harvest enough power for herself.

Before the fight itself, Bloom and Sky were able to layout their genuine feelings for each other and were able to share a kiss. Bloom uses all her magic and kills all the Burned Ones around the school. Realizing how powerful she is, Bloom returns to Alfea pretty proud of herself. The next day, headmistress Dowling and Bloom share a hug after the chaos that happened earlier.

The episode ends with Rosalind and Dowling meeting at the woods where it was revealed that they were training Bloom and the next generation for a much bigger war. Rosalind tells Dowling that the Queen doesn’t believe in her ability to lead the school and suggests that Dowling should take time off. Not wanting to leave Alfea, Dowling refuses. Rosalind uses her magic to lift up Dowling and snaps her neck. Thinking that the worst is over, Bloom and her friends are greeted by Rosalind at Alfea.
